Program Director; Reports to the Executive Director: Responsible for administratice and program duties associated with the management of the IU Northwest Non-Profit Institute (NPI). In addition, the Program Director handles the day-to-day operations of GRANTS Inc. under the supervision of the Executive.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Interact and support the work of the Board of Directors of GRANTS Inc. by providing handouts, Board minutes and reports;
• Interact and support the contractual work with IUN and any other partners where a contract is in place;
• Carry out the vision and mission as set forth by the Board of Directors;
• Host programs at NPI like the Brown Bag Lunch, Annual Open House and Resource Fair, and any additional programs that may be developed from time to time;
• Provide fiscal management of the budget, Quick Books©, account reconciliation, payroll checks, accounts receivable/payable processing, budget preparation with the assistant of the external accountant;
• Coordinate the external grant writers contractual arrangements and ensure compliance with contractual requirements;
• Attending community and partner meetings, networking with the non-profit and public official arena on behalf of NPI and GRANTS Inc in coordination with the Executive Director;
• Update the website, keeping current on fliers and handouts, writing news releases, and cultivating media relationships;
• Provide technical assistance to clients that come to ask for help;
• Provide Contract Management with the Grassroots Initiative, contracts with grant writers, and the contract with IUN;
• Assist in procurement of needed supplies for the operations;
• Plan events like the NPI Open House to enhance the awareness of NPI, GRANTS Inc. and its partner the Center for Urban and Regional Excellence at IUN;
• Represents GRANTS Inc. and NPI at public meetings, participate in collaborations, and sustain organizing efforts for the partnership;
• Support the Executive Director, provide excellent customer service, build partnerships, and suggest policy revisions and additions as needed;
• Be the public communication agent for NPI and GRANTS Inc.; and,
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelors Degree with preference toward a Masters Degree in public management, social work, business, or other related field;
• Must have experience with a variety of non-profit concepts and operational issues;
• Must have analytical and statistical abilities to collect data and perform evaluations;
• Passionate about helping others;
• Must possess strong writing skills, communications and technology skills, be self-motivated, be able to troubleshoot problems, prioritize and be creative;
• Must be capable to handle all tasks as assigned; and,
• Must be computer literate and capable of creating presentations and reports.
